IBM 5150 Personal Computer

The very first computer with the “label” PC of Personal Computer. This is my old vintage retro IBM 5150 PC from 1981.

This PC runs DOS what stands for Disk Operating System.

Such a computer was back in the eighties a special thing. Usually people didn’t had a computer at home but at their work and even there is really wasn’t common. Things like text procressing did exist but without the nice features of MS office we know and use at a daily base these days.

The IBM 5150 Personal Computer doesn’t have a hard disk but only two 5,25 inch floppy drives. One floppy contains software and the other could be used to store data at.

Get inspired by watching this video about the very first personal computer, namely the IBM 5150 Personal Computer.
